注意:

1.不要太顧及文法,針對情況應對作答。

俗語說熟能生巧只要多聽多講多練習,自然能說得很流利。最怕一開始就想要像中文一樣講的百分百的完整、正確,而產生不敢開口或構思半天才作答的毛病。學習英語會話最忌害羞,英語并不是我們的母語,講錯了也不用難為情,只要能使對方了解自己想說的事,并且針對客人的問題作答,就已經(jīng)相當不錯了。剛開始時,不要存有非說得很流利不可的想法,只要把握每一次說話的機會,就是進步的秘訣。

2.用心聽客人說話,不懂時可以再問一次。

初學英語時,應先練習聽力,訓練自己的耳朵,以便跟得上客人的說話速度。接待客人時,在確定了客人的意思或要求之后,應該重復確認一遍。有不懂得地方馬上再問一次。假裝聽懂了,很容易會誤人誤己,是絕對行不通的。如果仍然聽不懂,可以對客人說Justamoment,please.然后找來上級應對。

3.不要使用和朋友交談式的英語。

酒店英語對話,是以商務英語為基礎,必須正式,不可以使用和朋友交談時的非正式英語。酒店對話使用的是正式的英語,故不會因為交談對象的年齡、性別而有所改變。

4.不要使用俚語(NoSlang)

俚語也是語言的一個重要組成部分。但是俚語必須用于適當?shù)膱龊?對客人使用俚語,會被認為輕薄。像OK,Yeah等最好不要使用,應該換成Certainly之類比較莊重的說法。

5.不要說Idon'tknow。

客人通常是有事相求或遇到麻煩時,才會開口詢問的,如果以不知道一口加以回絕,會顯得很不親切。如果客人詢問的東西自己不知道或聽不懂時,可以說:Justamoment,please.I'llcheckthatforyou.然后請上級或同事幫助。

6.眼睛也會說話

說話的時候眼睛要看著對方—這是世界各國共同的原則。尤其是西歐,說話的時候如果不看著對方,會被認為說謊,或是對自己所說的話沒有自信。但如果只盯著客人看,有時候會導致相反效果。應該適度點頭和附和,并配合誠摯、體貼的表情。

7.對客人的稱呼

眾所周知,男賓客用sir稱呼,女賓客則以ma'am稱呼,ma'am是madam的俗稱。年輕的女客人如果以中文稱呼她女士,多少會有些奇怪的感覺,但ma'am的使用則與年齡無關。另外,在和客人打招呼時,最好用E*cuseme,sir/ma'am。切忌以Mr.或Miss.相稱。
